It's Official - D is a Pre-K Graduate!
Last Thursday was a big day in our house as D graduated from Pre-K so it is official - he is off to Kindergarten in September.
I have to say the day was beautiful and we were so happy to celebrate his big milestone with family and friends. As you can see, D was pretty excited for the big event. The kids did not wear caps and gowns but the school provided t-shirts which featured each child's hand prints and the answer to "What I Want to Be When I Grow Up?" Of course, D's shirt was huge on him but thankfully Mike worked his sewing magic and hemmed it so it did not look like a dress on him.
Here he is hamming it up.....
The back of his shirt. It says "Police Officer."
Daddy and his Pre-K Graduate......
Each parent had to create an outfit centered around what each child wanted to be. These outfits served as decor for the church and lined the pews. I created the "head" for each child's outfit as I had to get involved somehow. It featured a picture, the school's logo and a diploma. I have to say it looked super cute.
Making it official - getting his "diploma from his Pre-K teacher.
And there you have it - It's official!!!!

Goodbye Sweet Friend!
KC,
Though you drove use crazy with all your issues you were the best dog to have as a first pet. And despite the fact you got us kicked out of "Dog School" you had a personality all your own. How lucky were we that you choose us to be your family. I will always remember you....
Keeping a close watch over Daniel from the moment we brought him home....
How you allowed us to do almost anything to you and you were always a good patient......
And you always allowed us to be silly with you.......
And you even allowed us to read to you....
But you always found the best places to take a nap and sleep.....
Thank you for allowing us to love on you day in and day out!
Goodbye Sweet KC.
May you now have all the chipmunks, squirrels and groundhogs one dog could ever need or want!
We will love you always!!!
Sweet Dreams Sweet Girl!

Happy Voice Day!!
Though some days it seems like it was yesterday while others it feels like a lifetime ago, Voice Day is here again. It is hard to believe that only FOUR years ago Daniel looked like this after his trach repair surgery.....
And now no one would never know as he talks and acts like this....
HAPPY VOICE DAY MY LITTLE MAN!! We could not be happier with you and keep being you!!!

Taking a Break on Spring Break
With the arrival of Easter so came the arrival of Spring Break. This year we decided to "take a break on Spring Break" and not do too much. Our week was filled with sleeping later than usual for D and staying in PJ's until lunchtime. We even spent one day doing absolutely nothing!! In addition, we did the little things that we haven't had a chance to do like getting D's haircut, which he NEEDED; a trip to the movies to see The Lorex in 3D (quite a good movie I might add), as well as a visit to Grandma's and Grandpa's.
By the week home was not so much fun and road trips were in order. So off we went to the Turtleback Zoo on Saturday. We had never been and it is quite a nice little zoo. Much to D's happiness the zoo was having a celebration for the wolves as it was their birthday.....
Grey timber wolves and their cake
And of course there was a trip to the Reptile House to see the snakes. As you can see, he is very excited about this....
And since the weather was awesome here, on Sunday we traveled to Mystic, CT to their aquarium for the day. On arrival the beluga whales were being feed so someone found a prime spot and watched the action.
We also got to see some seals who were swimming outside.......
All and all a great way to spend Spring Break. Now it is just a few more weeks to GRADUATION for someone!!!

Easter Egg Hunts!!!
This year, as always, we headed to some Easter Egg hunts prior to Easter. Luckily the weather was crappy on one of the weekends so "hunts" got spread out to two separate days and much fun was had.
Our first one was our town's Easter Egg hunt on the beach. This one is always a hit as the beach is filled with boxes of candy for the taking. Of course there was the traditionally photo with Peter Cottontail.....
Funny thing was as we were heading to the hunt I told D that the goal was to find the plastic egg that the group had hide in the sand. For the first time, he actually listened to me, however, by the time he stopped looking for the plastic egg all the candy was gone. Yes, it equaled one unhappy boy.
Luckily the following Saturday featured another hunt where they actually place plastic eggs in a field and everyone runs for them, per age group. This time no mention was made about what anyone should find.
D found a gold coin and won an Easter Basket!! Thank God kids have short memories on somethings as finding the coin totally made up for not getting any candy the week before.

Scooping out the field.....
Though we did not mention anything to D about finding sometime special in one of the eggs, this Easter Egg hunt did feature the placement of four gold coins, per age group, in each section. And as luck would have it...

God's Not Dead - D's Easter Concert
Yesterday morning D participated in his Easter Show at school. Each year it is very sweet and the kids are just too cute. Anyway, while getting dressed prior to school, D told me that there would be one song that he was going to sing really loud for. Here it is....and by the way, on how many levels is this song just not right? Granted the message is correct but.....And I hope you enjoy D's commentary right before the song starts.

Treats for My Little Leprechaun & His Friends
With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday this year, this week featured special treats for my little Leprechaun and his friends as he had to bring snacks for one class and a party at another.
So how did we mark one of our favorite holidays? We started the week by bringing in Rainbow Goldfish to both classes and then created:
We also created one more thing but you will have to come back tomorrow to see what my little Leprechaun made for his friends. It is quite fun!

Can't You Just Feel the LOVE??
Today was all about the LOVE and heart shaped food. Daniel got to enjoy these heart shaped sticky rolls as part of his breakfast......
As well as some heart shaped pancakes.......
He brought this to his AM Pre-K class (which we made yesterday because I am not that insane yet!)....
And these I made these for his afternoon Pre-K class. Yes, they are chocolate covered strawberries and they are supposed to look like a bouquet of roses.
As well as watermelon hearts and fresh strawberries..... (I know, I have too much time on my hands).
And for dinner we made heart shaped pizza......
And in case you still can't feel the love......
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Apparently Pre-School is paying off as this afternoon as I was cleaning out kitchen drawers (what else does one do on a snow day?) D found pipe cleaners and made these......
