Rain, Rain.........

GO AWAY. PLEASE DON'T COME BACK SOME OTHER DAY!

As we are now about 24 hours from, by all weather accounts, the biggest storm to hit the East Coast in years, I can honestly say I just want to get it over with now. As many of you know, I am not the best person in the world when it comes to patience and not knowing what is going to happen. And owning a house verse renting a house in a situation like this takes on a whole new perspective. The potential damage is now my own and what could be sucks.

With that said, we have taken every precaution they have suggested. Items have been moved to higher ground such as important papers, gutter extensions have been put on and checked. All that can be brought in has been and everything else has been tied down. We have enough water, food and toys to keep everyone happy. Luckily we have two areas in our house that have limited windows should it get really bad. We have a little boy who just said, "Daddy is letting me eat in the bed. It's Frosted Flakes, which is perfect to eat in the bed, right?" And we really don't have to leave the house tomorrow.

We are not by the shore nor any large body of water so the storm surge everyone is talking about will not be a huge factor for us. There is a stream that will most likely flood but it is down from us. However, like so many on the East Coast who are in the path of this storm we have a number of very large, and beautiful tress, which might be damaged. The crappy part of this is that with all the high winds that are expected a fair amount of leaves will fall off making our fall foliage season shorter and less colorful. Totally a bummer!

Mother Nature is Mother Nature so we now must just wait. My one question in all this is who pissed Mother Nature off so much this year?? Whoever you are, please stop. No one needs to deal with her wrath like this. Until after our "visit" from Irene......
