Best Buddies

This past week Daniel and Mike had the privilege of escaping NJ and heading up to upstate New York to our friends family cabin for a couple of days. To say that they had a great time would be an understatement. I, unfortunately, had to stay home to dog sit and work, and I missed this beautiful view....

Looking at the pictures Mike brought back got me thinking about how lucky we are that most of our friends have children D's age and for the most part everyone gets along. What is especially nice is that Daniel and Kira can, should they want to be, each others safety date for the prom as they act like brother and sister more often than not. They are just goofy little ones when they want to be.......Or just quiet little confidants when need be.....

And no outing would be complete for D without a little war wound. This one came as a result of a battle with some SMORES sticks. Gotta love the placement.......

Despite the fact that missed the boys terribly, from the look of this picture, I think D has caught the camping bug from his Dad.....

I have to say, not a bad way to spend a week between camp, VBS, and a family visit if you ask me! Thanks to all the Sarines who made a very memorable trip happen for one little boy and his Dad.
