Build and Grow

Last year we stumbled upon Lowe's Build and Grow program (http://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/Default.aspx) which is a free building workshop for little ones. Lowe's hosts theses programs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month and Daniel has built a ton of projects ranging from ball tosses, trains, race cars, UFO's, music boxes and much more. The nice thing is that once a child completes the project they are given a patch which can be sewn on the apron that they give to each participant free of charge. As you can see, D's apron has been put to good use....

These are wonderful workshops as they focus on fine motor skills and eye/hand coordination. Not that we thought D would have a problem in these areas, given Mike's building ability, but it is still wonderful to see how D has progressed in these areas over the last year.

This past Saturday, Lowe's offered a "Basketball Toss" build as it is "March Madness" time. As you can see, D knows the drill.

First, find a dry wall bucket so you can reach the table......

Second, pull out the hammer and start pounding nails (with the help of Daddy)...

Third, match the pieces up and make sure they fit...

And finally test out the finish project......

And yes, this project provided hours of amusement and enjoyment for all of us!!
